How to avoid the construction mess at the jct of I65 and I 80

You are all aware that the highway I 65 is being fixed north of exit 258
If you follow the recommended detour you will be going
all over the place and may get lost too

The best thing to do is turn 258 exit
Go west on SR 6 which is the same as E. Ridge or W 37th Ave
Go on it till it cuts Broadway (SR 53)
Go north on it till it reaches I 80/94 WB at exit 10
Go west on it and follow 394 north or 94 N to go to Chicago

When you want to get back I 65
retrace the same step till you get to I65 S

Hope this info helps someone

Running a server from your personal computer

It is very tempting to be able to run a variety of servers from your
personal computer that is connected to the Internet via DSL or Cable

The freely available servers include

Unreal media server
Unreal live server
VNC server

To use these servers you have to know a few basic things

First it is nice to have a fixed IP address
Then you should know how to create an opening in the router firewalls

The router firewall is generally accessed by using a web browser
and entering the address Http://192.168.2.1

Look for virtual servers
Make an opening for the server port

In the windows firewall make an exception for the server exe files

Then you have to find out the Wide Area IP address of your computer
This may change every day if it is not a fixed IP address

If you have two or three computers connected to your router
you may have to figure out for variouss

subaddresses

Enjoy

How to make VNC server/client work

VNC server is a freeware server for personal use

Say you want to help out a friend or relative who is not
as good as you are in computing matters.

Run the server in his computer
He has to have a broadband connection
You can disable the windows firewall in his computer
Or you can keep it
Just get into control panel-Windows security-windows firewall
Click on the exceptions tab and add VNC server
What it does is open a port for the software
Run the server program and set the password for you to
use to connect to that computer
Now you can run the VNC client in your computer
or use tight VNC client and control his computer

Suppose if your friend has a router then you can have
him temporarily turn off the router
Unplug the wire that goes from the modem to the
router and unplug the wire (RJ 47) that goes from
router to the modem and connect it to the modem

Essentially you bypass the router

however if you still want to have the router
then you have to create an opening in the router
firewall software by creating a virtual server opening
for the port 5900
The way to create an opening for the port 5900 Vused by VNC server)
varies from one router to another
You sort of look in the manual and do it
or you can call the router manufacturer to help you do it

Explain to them that you want to run a sever
behind the router firewall and that server uses the port 5900
Then they will be able to help you

I know how to set up Belkin router

I hope this info is helpful to you all

It took me a several hours of trial and error to nail it
