How to create distribution list in outlook.com

Hotmail.com is now changed to outlook.com.

Outlook.com is in the process of being updated.

Yes you can create  distribution list. That is to include

several email addresses in one nick name. Just by entering

that name you can send an email as to or cc or bcc to several

people.. There is a limit of 79 emails to the list. You can

create several list of 79 email addresses.

How to do it?

First the individuals you want to add to the group have
to be in your contact list. If it is a new email address
first create a contact name for them with their email address.
After you have have their names and email addresses
entered in the contacts list


Click on the checkered icon. click on the people icon.
Click on the people. Click on the down arrow next to new
Select create group. Give a name. Add the email addresses
one by one. If it is properly entered you will see the
Send email and the number of contacts added to the list.

Make sure you periodically save. Re-select the group and
continue to enter email addresses.

If there are any structural mistake in any of the emails you typed the email
will not be sent to anyone.  If there are typos it will not go to that particular
person.It will bounce that address.

About Obamacare

ObamaCare may not be the best or perfect but it is a good start

ObamaCare, officially known as The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (TPPACA) was signed into law on March 23, 2010. ObamaCare is easier to say than the acronym TPPACA. Yes it was signed into law while Mr. Obama was the president. Reforming healthcare, making it more affordable, making it available to everyone, and containing ever increasing total health care cost is not an easy task. Though the credit is given to the President we must remember it could not have been a one man job. The issues ObamaCare attempts to address are so complex that it must have been put together by a team of extremely talented and knowledgeable individuals. Reform of the health care had been attempted by several governors and Presidents of both the parties. We may not like the President, the Democratic Party and several provisions of ObamaCare, but it is a good start and we should not attempt to destroy it by attempting to defund it. Yes we should definitely try to make it better with the help of experts selected by both the parties. The issues involved are so complex and they can’t be solved simply by voting yes or no or by creating interesting sound bites.

There are several Websites that attempt to explain ObamaCare. However, they all require that you stay focused and read many pages of material to understand it. Why the Websites find it hard to summarize the essence of ObamaCare in a few pages? Because the issues are so complex to explain and the provisions of the law come into force over a period of 10 years. It is human nature to feel comfortable with status quo. We have been comfortable with the employer paid healthcare benefits. Most of us find it hard to read so much to understand ObamaCare. So we are afraid that this law will upset our status quo. In reality, status quo has been changing over the last few years and is going to be totally different in a few years. We will realize it in November of this year when we have to fill out the papers for next year’s health care coverage. We may think by doing away with ObamaCare we could go back to the good old days of health care coverage. No it is not going to happen.

How has the status quo been changing over a period of time?  Fewer companies are now offering paid health care as a benefit. The employers are asking the employees to contribute more and more to the premium they have to pay the insurer. They are asking you to take a larger deductible and offer limited choice of doctors you can see and hospitals you could go to. Now some of the employers say that they will insure only the employees and not their families. If you have to buy insurance for your family it will cost you close to $10,000/year.Very soon they will offer you fixed amount of money and let you buy the healthcare you want from various exchanges. That way the employers will know ahead of time how much they have to spend for the health care coverage of their employees. You, as an employee will have to investigate various companies that offer health coverage and find out which one will suit your needs.

If we don’t have adequate health care coverage or become self-paying patients then we may have to pay the full undiscounted charges of the hospitals and health care providers. Likewise we may have to pay undiscounted prices for the medications. Failure to pay will result in creditors coming after your financial assets.

As a nation through Medicare, Medicaid, private medical insurances, and by supporting safety net hospitals in our communities we are paying a lot more than people of various developed countries. It is unsustainable. And our over all health is no better than that exists in many countries. Yes, our lifestyle may have a lot to do with us not having as good a health as many developed countries. ObamaCare attempts to address many areas of deficiencies in the health care system without adding too much to the deficit. It attempts to minimize the cost by requiring individual mandate, taxing the insurance companies, medical device makers, pharmaceutical companies, cutting reimbursement to health care providers and by other ways. Only passage of time will tell whether it will solve all the problems. But it is an attempt to accomplish it. Sure we can improve on it. We could even amend it to remove certain provisions of it taking into considerations the financial implications. It is harder to create something or improve on it than to destroy it.

It has taken us so long and so much political will to try and create the Affordable Care Act. Let us preserve it and test it out.

Use Macrium to backup and restore the backed up drive image

When your computer works fine make sure

you backup an image of  your C drive periodically. This will help you re-install the windows

drivers, basic programs, updates without having to re-install a fresh copy of windows and other programs.

This necessity may arise if your Windows malfunctions, or gets hopelessly infected with some virus

How to back up and restore C drive image using Macrium

First delete all the unnecessary files from C drive

Delete all the large music and video files or transfer them to another drive

Delete content of the recycle folder

Defrag the C Drive

Run Macrium

Select backup

Select C drive box

select next

Select the folder and location to put the image file in

Usually it should be in another drive or in the external drive

Then it will take an image of the whole of the C drive

Note the folder and drive where such file is located

so that in the future you can access it

You can also save multiple such files of your various

C drives of various computers in an external drive

How to restore

RUN UCBD disc

It will pause and then prompt you do you  want to run the disc

Press enter

Then it will ask  do you want the shell

Press enter

Then it will ask whether you want the network connection or not network select no

then it will show the desktop


Click on start -programs- filenames-exploreres

select  the free commander program

Locate macrium/reflect in the other drive

run the exe file

select restore

select the partition C drive

Select the location of backed up image file

Secect acctive than primary

select no letter

Select use the saved root boot sector

That is all

Periodically back it up so that you will have all the windows updates

plus the adobe and java updates as well

Do not install unnecesary programs

Use portable programs to do most of the work

Noisy fan and slow computer

I had this problem with my desktop

It was operating very slowly and some times it would stop

It would start off fine and then would slow down. Occasionally the fan would make

a lot of noise. When I opened it I found out that the fan was covered with a lot of

dirt. I tried to clean it out. It was not satisfactory. So I got one of the air sprayers

and blew out the dirt off the fan. After that my computer started working fine

I thought this might be of some help to some one.

How to connect your laptop to a TV?

If you have a laptop with HDMI output, (the new laptops have them) just connect that to the HDMI inputof the HDTV. Select the HDMI input option in your HDTV.You will see what you see on the laptop monitor of the laptop. So your HDTV will function as a large screen monitor.

If you have an old Laptop you can connect the 15 pin VGA output to the 15 pin
RGB of the HDTV and select the Function key number in the laptop ( just like you would have done if you were using data projector) that will transfer the
signal to the HDTV monitor. However, you have to connect the speaker output to
the audio input of the HDTV to hear the sound.

So it is possible to see Netflix, Youtube, and even DVD (if your Laptop is capable of playing it)
on the larger HDTV screen.

How to install flash installer in portable firefox

With each version of flash installer

The two required files get placed in different folders

The latest version is version number 10

Install the version 10 in the hard drive

open the folder

C:\WINDOWS\system32\Macromed\Flash

Look for these files

flashplayer.xpt
NPSwf32.dll

If you put the cursor on these files it will show

version 10.0.12.36

copy both the files and place them in

the plugin folder of the portable firefox.

I am using portable firefox version 3.1

In it you have to place them in this folder

J:\FirefoxPortable\App\Firefox\plugins

Actually you will find several plugin folders

J is the drive path for my portable drive

yours might be different

Actually it is rather simple as long as you are aware of where

to look for those two files and in which folder to put them in

keep in mind in the portable firefox folder you might find two or there

plugin subfolders
